In these environment conscious days we all have to be careful about where and how we dispose of our rubbish. Here at Tony’s Removals we take rubbish very seriously. Under the 1990 UK Environmental Protection Act, all businesses are required by law to dispose of their waste properly. Under section 34 of this Act, it is required that all businesses producing commercial and industrial waste in any form will be subject to what is called the ‘Duty of Care’. This stipulates that by law, businesses must take all reasonable steps to look after any waste they handle and must prevent its escape or illegal disposal by others.

Tony’s Removals are licensed waste carriers, registered by the Environment Agency click here for certificate. Alternatively check on line through the new waste carrier register on the Environment Agency’s website.

Unfortunately there is a cost to rubbish removal and we have to pay the waste transfer station a minimum charge of £65.00 + vat. However, we do operate a recycling policy and pride ourselves on wherever possible passing on second hand items to appropriate charity organisations.

It’s so frustrating. You want to buy something on eBay, but it’s a large bulky item and it’s ‘buyer collect’. It’s over 50 miles away, you’ve got to arrange to rent a vehicle for a day, lose a day of your time, and pay for fuel. Meanwhile, we could have collected on your behalf at a fraction of the cost.

Has your Mum been nagging you to clear your junk out from her loft or garage? If you can’t find the time or haven’t got a big enough vehicle just give us a call with the details and we will take on the whole job at an agreed set rate.

Or perhaps you need some large items delivered elsewhere. There’s no need to get involved with packaging and weighing for a courier service; just call us and we will get the job done swiftly and cost effectively.
